On Saturday afternoon we will be meeting at church to learn a little bit about the Reformation and Martin Luther. Not the civil rights activist but the one responsible for the Reformation, think Monk who farts a lot! If you like to laugh and you want to learn how the Lutheran church began this is the lock-in for you. As always, we will spend the night here at the church and have plenty of time for fun and food as well!

This year our Synod will be putting together another Jr. high retreat on Oct. 26 from10am-5pm. Last year we volunteered at a senior living facility and this year we will be serving at a Trunk or Treat for children in the foster care system and others in the community. We will also have games, lunch and worship together. If you are a youth in 7^th-8^th grade and would like to participate as well as meet other kids from the Northern Illinois Synod, please use the online sign up. Parents, if anyone would like to go with us and be a trunk that would be awesome too, just indicate this on your sign-up sheet. This event is free, but please bring money for a fast-food dinner on the way home.

7-12^th graders, please join us on Sat., Nov. 16 from 2-6pm for our Nerf Event! From 2-4pm we will build our own bunkers to hunker down in while we have a nerf gun war! After that we will worship together during the 5:00pm service. Please bring a nerf gun if you have one, and make sure that they are labeled with your name, so they get returned back to you! 

Peace 360 (7-12^th graders) Zoo Light Event – Sun., Dec. 8 Sign up by Nov. 17 to purchase tickets before we go! Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo.  Meet Deacon Shari at church at 3pm. We will walk around the zoo and check out the scenery and then at 5:30 we will walk through the Zoo Lights! 

7-12 graders are invited to join Deacon Shari from 3-7pm for a Christmas & New Year’s Eve Party! Please bring a wrapped present for a gift exchange ($5 or less). We will play games, have fun and eat some dinner! 

We will meet at church, at 3:30pm, and go to MorningStar Mission. We will pass out all the things we have been collecting for the blessing bag items and we will serve dinner.  Please let us know if your youth can attend, so we know how many drivers we will need.  Adults, please let us know if you would like to drive. This event will count as service hours for Confirmation and for high school.
