Thank you for giving to support Peace and God’s ministry in this place! Here’s a list and explanation of the various funds that help Peace serve God and neighbor. If you have any further questions please reach out to peacechurch@peacenewlenox.org or (815) 485-5327.
General Fund: These funds are used to support the mission and ministry of Peace in the broadest sense. We buy curriculum, pay salaries, fund ministries like fellowship and youth events, purchase worship supplies, and upkeep our facilities with these funds. They are essential to God’s ministry at Peace.
Building: These funds are used to pay down our mortgage and may be used to cover any building expenses that exceed our general fund giving.
Flower Fund: We love the flowers that grace our altar each week and remind us of God’s amazing creation and the beautiful life we have in Christ. It’s also a great way to honor or remember important people and events in our lives. This fund is for when you provide flowers for our altar. Please be sure to sign up on our flower chart and let us know how you’d like us to recognize your flower donation in our order of worship.
National Youth Gathering: Every three years, our youth have the opportunity to gather with thousands of other youth from across the country to worship, learn, and have fun! It is an amazing, sometimes even life-changing event that requires significant expenses. When you give to this fund, you help ensure that all youth who want to experience the gathering are able to go.
Initial Offering: Giving to this fund at the beginning of our fiscal year (June 1) helps us to have a strong start to our new fiscal year.
VBS Donation: Each summer we have a blast at Vacation Bible School. We couldn’t do it without the gifts we receive through this fund. (For reference, VBS costs around $20/kid)
Youth Fund: Our youth are active. This fund is for youth activities, including to assist any youth that might feel unable to attend an event because of the cost. If you are making a donation for a youth fundraiser (that’s not connected to National Youth Gathering) then this is the fund to choose. You can also use this fund to pay for a youth event.
Easter Flowers: What a sight our altar is on Easter Sunday when it is filled with flowers in bloom! If you ordered flowers for Easter, you can pay for them through this fund.
Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Meal in the Upper Room, Good Friday, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Offering: Each church holiday is an opportunity to give thanks to God. One way to do that is to give a gift to God’s ministry here at Peace.
Help Others Fund: God calls us to serve our neighbors in need. This fund is used to offer a helping hand to our community.
Memorial Gift: One way to honor the loved ones we have lost, is to give a gift to honor something they loved. Memorial gifts can be given in memory of a loved one to continue to support the church they called home.
Poinsettia Fund: Candlelight and poinsettias make for a stunning Christmas Eve night. This fund is for if you order poinsettias at Christmas time.
QKA Books: The books and workbooks are free! But if you’d like to give in gratitude for the books, this fund goes toward hunger ministries like Feed My Starving Children.
Scholarship Fund: We love our youth and want to bless them as they continue their education. The scholarships we give to our high school seniors each year are a sign of our love and of Christ’s love for them. We also offer scholarships to our seminarians who are committing to serve God and God’s church as a sign of our support and God’s faithfulness.
Souper Bowl: This is a national movement to collect canned good and financial gifts for feeding ministries on Super Bowl weekend. These gifts will then be shared with our local food pantries.
